Devansoy adds international soy leader


Devansoy, a leading supplier of all natural soy ingredients, is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Tom Woodward as Vice President, Business Development.

Mr. Woodward is a highly regarded soy industry leader. His experience includes a variety of leadership positions with Tetra Pak. Most recently, Mr. Woodward was located in Singapore and served as Director Global Soya for the international packaging firm. Additionally, he has served as President of the Soyfoods Association of North America and Board Member of the Soy Forum, Southeast Asia.

Devansoy President Elmer Schettler views this as a significant development in expanding both domestic and international markets.

“Having Tom join our company is a unique and exciting opportunity,” said Schettler. “Devansoy has established a strong foundation of production facilities, technical support services and marketing resources. Tom’s industry knowledge and experience will help direct our sales and customer support efforts to provide the best possible platform for growth of our customers. Tom will expand our presence beyond the U.S., while strengthening our relationships with key domestic companies. This is another major step in the continued expansion and growth of Devansoy.”

Mr. Woodward is a native of California, a graduate of the University of San Diego and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Mr. Woodward, his wife and three children will reside in Boise, Idaho.

Devansoy is a leading supplier of all natural soy ingredients made from identity-preserved soybeans. Its Benesoy product line includes liquid soy proteins, soy protein powders and soy flours, available in organic and conventional varieties. All products are identity-preserved and Kosher Parve. The company was established in Carroll, Iowa in 1990 by soybean industry standout Elmer Schettler and continues to operate from Carroll, Iowa.
